This 4-hour Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health course provides learners with the knowledge to:
- Recognise a range of mental health conditions
- Start a supportive conversation
- Signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help
- Recognise and manage stress

Learning outcomes
Learners will:
- Recognise symptoms of a mental health condition
- Understand the First Aid Plan for Mental Health
- Know when and how to start a conversation
- Understand different mental health conditions
- Understand stress
Qualifications
To gain the qualification Learners need to pass the assessment. The tutor will use a range of assessment methods, including practical observation and questioning.
FAA are an awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual (England) and SQA (Scotland). This course is:
- Level 1 on the Ofqual Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) - England
- Level 4 on the SQA Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) - Scotland
