This Online course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, accredited by MHFA England, giving you:
- An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix

Description
Led by two experienced tutors - Judith Fellowes and Michael Fellowes. To ensure the quality of the learning we limit this to twelve participants. You need a webcam and microphone to participate. The live sessions work best using Chrome on a laptop/desktop PC or Mac. Safari is not yet supported.
Training is 15 hours of learning:

- Seven hours of self-directed learning by yourself
- Eight hours of online sessions with the tutors and fellow trainees
The live online sessions are over 4 consecutive Saturdays from the 21st November to the 12th December 2020.
- Individual learning – 1hr
- 21st November 1000-1200 − Live session one – 1hr 45min
- Individual learning – 2hrs
- 28th November 1000-1240 - Live session two – 2hrs 20min
- Individual learning – 2hrs
- 5th December 1000-1215 - Live session three – 2hrs
- Individual learning – 2hrs
- 12th December 1000-1215 - Live session four – 1hr 55min
All sessions must be completed to receive your certificate as a qualified Mental Health First Aider.
